I'm having a major dude week this week. Probably, because I overloaded on Christina Aguilera once I got my hands on that album. Anywho, my three songs that I can't stop listening to this week arrrrreeeeeeee (drumroll please):
That's a great question, Dr. Dog and I wish I could tell ya. You probably passed a lot of time making this little gem. This song is off Dr. Dog's new album, Shame, Shame, which I don't have but will be sure to get after hearing this song. Whenever I listen to this, all I can think of are watercolors. That's what it reminds me of. The little instrument that makes that cool sound at the beginning is likely to blame for that. I probably should get better at identifying instruments if I'm going to continue having a blog about music, huh? Maybe a wind instrument? Maybe an instrument that the computer made up? Anyway, this is extremely ornate song from Dr. Dog and reminds a lot of The Flaming Lips. Listen because I said so.
I have no idea why, but I have been in an odd David Bowie phase for this past week. This has never happened to me before. I wasn't sure what to do about it at first because I wasn't aware that I liked him to the extent that I was [liking him] so I decided to just go with it. I'm glad I did. Dave really knows how to get songs in your head. I downloaded a lot of DB (David Bowie - not to be confused with the ever popular Douche Bag) this week and it's been a glorious week ever since I did. All of his songs are super catchy and majority of them put me in the jolliest of moods. "Heroes" is one of those songs. Go blast it in you car with the windows down and then come tell me you're not in a good mood. In a related story, I suddenly want to watch my second favorite movie ever, The Labyrinth.
Fuck yes, fuck yes, fuck yes. Sorry for all the cursing but Arcade Fire brings out my passion. I, along with plenty of other AF fans, have been waiting not so patiently for new material from this disgustingly talented band. They could come out with an album monthly and I would not be satisfied. They're just that good that you always want more (that's what she said). The band teased us with a sample of this song as well as another ("Month of May") last week. The sample was literally about 12 seconds long and gave me the worst case of blue balls a girl can get. Just knowing that they were alive and making music, filled me with great warmth and excitement. Shortly thereafter, they released the full song and here it is for your enjoyment. I have been enjoying it more than one should and don't want to hog it all so please, come enjoy with me.
