Replay, Please.

Who's pumped about the three songs I've been lovin' this week?! :crickets:: Well I am so let's just get to the point. My three songs of the week aaaarreeee (drumroll please):

My long time friend, Bill, told me I need to give this band a listen. I know nothing about them except that my good friend likes them and that is all I need to know. I trust his music judgement and have confidence that he wouldn't steer me wrong. Steer me wrong he did not. I have their album, Big Echo, and have not given it a fair listen at this point and that is mostly because I can't get passed track one, "Excuses." This song is simply a joy to listen to. It makes me want to go put on my Poodle skirt and go kiss a boy on the lips (and that's it) while watching a drive in movie. In other words, it sounds like a song from the 50's. Check it out cause it's neato.

An oldie but a goodie. It was recently brought to my attention that this song was not taking up any megabytes on my iPod and how could it? It wasn't there. That, my friends, is a damn shame. I remedied that right quick and ever since, "Shadowboxer" and I have been frolicking like the old friends we are. Naturally, Fiona kills it (this is a good thing) with the lyrics and the music is heavy and rich. If this song was a fabric, it'd be velvet. I love the subject matter she chose for this and it's one I think everyone can relate to. Fiona Apple, I love you.

"You're the shit and I'm knee deep in it." I appreciate the creativeness and funness (I love making up words) of that line so much. This whole song is a solid one and definitely another that everyone can relate to in a been there, done that sort of way. I always liked this band but never really got into them until a few weeks ago, when I went to a show of theirs. I was blown away. It's kind of fun to go into a show with no expectations at all. If you're lucky, the result will be a pleasant surprise.

Hope you enjoy 'em! Check yah laatttteeerrrr.
